Description
This was a view looking toward Downtown Newark in the background, highlighting a changing style of skyscraper architecture during the second half of the 20th century. The older buildings in the foreground were in the municipality of Harrison, New Jersey located on the Passaic River directly across from the city of Newark. Using a telephoto lens provided the compressed look of the buildings on the opposite side of the river.

That's a great image Kellice. Love the reflections in the facade of the new building. l/f/p

You have created something special from this nice tight frame. The contrast between the chrome looking modern building and the earth tones of the historic buildings is wonderful. Excellent processing. v/f

Wow! Excellent work of old/new contrast! Your work always brings a flood of memories for me... Born & raised Jersey City girl... We had a view of Roosevelt Stadium and the Ballentine neon sign in Newark. :) The planes would make their decent right over our house and shine the high beams into the bedroom at night... Me and my sister used to jump under the bed LOL LOL! Thanks for the memories of Newark! fv :)

I'm so glad this was able to bring back such memories for you, Darlene. I also remember seeing the Ballentine sign back in the 60's when I would be with my parents on the way to New York, either by PATH (called the Hudson Tubes, and only 35 cents I think) or through Ironbound on the way to the Holland Tunnel. And do you remember how much noisier jet planes were then before the quieter aircraft of today? Thanks so much for sharing Darlene, and thank you too for your great support! :)
