Description
The Newark Bay Bridge, also known as the Vincent R. Casciano Memorial Bridge (courtesy Wikipedia), is part of the Northeast Extension of the New Jersey Turnpike. It links Newark in Essex County to the west with Bayonne in Hudson County to the east. Travelling eastbound one can get a splendid view of the New York City skyline, especially Lower Manhattan. When travelling west, an excellent view of Newark Liberty International Airport awaits you. I have enjoyed crossing this bridge at just the right moment to catch an incoming jet extremely low overhead, making its final approach to land on the shortest of Newark Liberty Airport's three runways.

I love the PoV -- So Cool!!! This bridge always meant I was "almost home." And yes, the view of Manhattan was incredible!! :))) fv

Thanks Darlene! I haven't been across it in quite awhile. It would be interesting to see how the New York skyline appears from here with the completion of the Freedom Tower. :)
